Athens

We flew from Paris to Athens and have 3 nights here before we head off to Hydra. We are staying in an Airbnb apartment opposite the Temple of Zeus and walking distance to the Plaka and Acropolis.

We are on top floor of the left hand building, the terrace with all the plants...

We started our first full day with an amazing breakfast just around the corner...

..before heading up to the Acropolis.

Next the Plaka for some retail therapy..

..tacky souvenirs abounding...

..but the loofas seemed a good buy

It was then time for lunch - something light - how about gyros!

It was now in the mid 30's so time to retreat to the a/c in the apartment before heading out again in the late afternoon. We went up to Syntagma square...

...for the changing of the guard. Compulsory tourist shot...

In the evening we met up with our kind hosts on Hydra, Janette and Thanos. Drinks on the terrace..

..before dinner at Strophi.

...amazing food and ekmek for dessert.
