Semur-en-Auxois

We trained back to Paris and then picked up a 9seater minivan and drove SE to the small historic village of Semur-en-Auxios.

The potential delights of the village were apparent when driving in

We are staying close to the centre in a Gite, with a large backyard and a pool

The entrance is through an old carriageway..

..to an amazing crumbling courtyard..

..then a great renovation and yard

We strolled around the town...

Here we saw what we first thought was a small hummingbird..

..we found from Google it was a hummingbird hawk moth...quite a sight, even though supposedly quite widespread

Next stop was a creperie in the main square for Bob’s birthday lunch

Then more strolling

And to finish a French style “birthday cake after dinner
