Vaavu and Meemu atolls

Cruising down to the southern atolls with stops at Vaavu and Meemu atolls

Always lots of passing boats and isolated islands

A stop at a wooden ship wreck at Vaavu atoll

A pretty good representation of the underwater scene from the internet - could even be me in my white rashie and black shorts

Also, some nice reef surrounding the wreck with lots of colourful fish. No underwater camera but lots of variety

One of the more common and colourful is the blue surgeon fish which is endemic to the Maldives

Trolling on the way down, banana snack bar getting a bit depleted, no luck with the fishing

Moored in Meemu atoll and the lemon sharks came in for a look

What else to do but jump in for a look back

Pretty idyllic mooring in the lagoon - but with an approaching squall

A great spot for a paddle
