Another day in "paradise" - to quote the locals

The nice weather has settled in and, with low tide in the morning (making for a protected lagoon), it was off for a snorkel

There were plenty off attentive fish, and some new discoveries, thou no fish ID books to identify them. Some new butterfly fish

Plus some random stuff, including these omnipresent fish that actually had protective bumps on their heads

a striped "cousin"

a weird slug type thing

some random fish

and a tiny crab

All very pleasant, but then it was coffee time, so off to town for another coffee at The Olive cafe

and a visit to the local chocolate shop - Sweeties

Another walk in the afternoon, this time through the 100 Acrs Reserve

Lots of magnificent Moreton Bay figs

a scarey spider

green winged pigeons

wild chickens

and the biggest bird breeding colony on the island itself, it was peak tropic bird breeding time at the spectacular Rocky Point

There was also a lovely tree fern lined gully

and of course some more amazing fig trees

Back to town via a fig tree avenue...

...for our Norfolk language class with one of the local teachers
