Lady Elliot Island Sep 2016

After it being on the bucket list for many years we finally made arrangements for a weeks visit to Lady Elliot Island. First leg was a flight to Hervey Bay

Then it was on to a small plane for the 40 minute flight out to Lady Elliot Island (LEI)

There were plenty of whales in the bay...

..and great views of Frazer Island

We saw a pod of 14 whales off the tip of the island

and some great views flying in

There is a small Eco Resort on the island...

...with basic cabins..

...buffet dining and a bar

But the real attraction is the surrounding reef

Plus there was plenty of opportunity to relax and stroll around the island
