We had a day at Cannon Beach, a one and a half hour drive west of Portland
Cannon Beach is a cute tourist town on the ocean known for its “haystack rocks” and tufted puffins (in season)
We did a long beach walk past the haystacks. The puffins had moved on but there were lots of shags and seagulls on the stacks..
Plus these jellyfish (west coast sea nettles) and seabirds on the sand. Below is an immature western seagull. We also saw some Brown pelicans fly along the beach. These North American pelicans and the only pelicans that dive for their food
And of course we “needed” ice cream
Afterwards another great dinner back at the house
