Again, full steam ahead to Herschel Island, part of the Yukon, for our next landing
Herschel Island is a national park with Inuit archeological sites and old trading post and whaling station buildings.
We arrived late afternoon and got ready under a welcoming rainbow
However before the passengers could get ready the wind came up and it became too dangerous to load the zodiacs so the visit was called off
That was our last landing. We are now steaming west through the Beaufort Sea for 4 days before arriving in Nome Alaska
We have travelled nearly 8,000 km since Reykjavik and another 1600 km to Nome
We will pause the blog til we arrive in Nome
