Andrahovo island

We awoke to a lovely clear still morning. Breakfast was served overlooking the ocean..

..and our hosts had arranged our requested trip out to the reef off Belo for snorkelling. The trip was by sailing pirogue, of which many could be seen in use by the local fishermen.

We set off at 8 am with a picnic lunch. First we had to cross the sandbank protecting the harbour. Our timing was a bit off, as a good size wave came through, drenching everyone and half filling the boat. Of course this was consider re a good laugh by everyone, especially the skipper

We only had 12 Kms to the islan but the winds were against us so it took 3 hours!! ...but at last we were rewarded with our sand island.

The water was an amazing colour, and although claimed to be otherwise and seeming good, the snorkelling was poor. The coral broken and fish cleaned out. However our crew saved the day making us a fantastic beach/picnic shelter from the sail. Swimming, shelling and watching the fisherman filled our day.

The winds held direction and even strengthened for the trip home, making it quite fun and taking 1 1/2 hours only, half the time of the trip out.
