Arriving in Madagascar

Flew from Reunion to Mauritius and then on to Antanarivo, the capital of Madagascar. Somewhat fascinating to arrive in a country you have very little mental image of.

This was our first view of the country, the middle of the east coast.

The country then changed to sparsely habituated hills.

Then dry agricultural land with scattered villages

 The drive from the airport was quite a revelation. Very poor, rice paddies in the low country and basic mud brick houses on the higher hills. The city centre a complete jumble. However we were taken to a sanctuary in our hotel Sakamanga (Blue Cat).

Looks like it will be a fascinating country to visit.
