...which certainly had a tourist orientation to it..with lovely cut-work..
...but also a lot of normal village goings on.
We were hoping for our first glimpses of some lemurs..and did they turn it on. Lemurs are primates, so our close cousins. They are social animals, with a range of calls, and they are only found in Madagascar. They following is but a taste of the huge number of photos taken over the 2 hrs of the walk.
We started almost straight away with black lemurs, that being the male, the female being chestnut with white face trim..
We also saw 2 nocturnal lemurs, at head height in the trees, trying to sleep, and totally unconcerned about our presence
Equally so a boa constrictor...
...a panther chameleon..
...a giant Madagascan day gecko (about 8 in long)
...and a Uroplatus, a type of leaf tailed gecko (over 12 inches long)
Even the jackfruit was photogenic
Then it was back for a swim at the Gite....

National Geographic will be after you soon for some of these shots. What an exceptional day for wildlife.
