Bouddhanath temple visit

Morning broke quite clear, with good views from the 7th floor of the Radisson.

With an afternoon flight scheduled we had the morning free so went to Bouddhanath temple, one of the main Buddhiist temples in Kathmandu. It was about a 20 min drive..

.. and then a 5 min walk across busy streets..

...and up narrow shop lined lanes...

...til we entered the complex proper.

The stupa is busy with circulating pilgrims and surrounded by all manner of shops

We visited one temple...

..with lots of butter lamps..

..and there were lots of character-filled faces about

Also plenty of coffee shops

After marsala dosas etc for lunch...

..it was back to the airport to try again to leave Kathmandu
