Day 12 Fiordland

Today is Fiord day. We visit Milford, Dusky and Doubtful sounds. No landings or zodiac cruises, all done from the ship.

Entering Milford Sound at 0530

Milford village and the end of the fiord

On the way out - dolphins at the back of the ship…

..and playing in front of another cruise boat we passed

Lots of waterfalls as expected

Leaving Milford

Heading down the coast

Entering Thompson sound en route to Doubtful sound (named by James Cook in 1770 as he got to the entrance but thought it doubtful that if he went in he would get out)

The entry to Doubtful sound - almost sunny weather …

… but within 15 minutes, it was for the hardy only

Back along the coast

Entering Dusky sound….

…with mulled wine on the back deck

Farewells from the crew - our amazing expedition team.

Then a gala dinner with “the gang”

Wait staff in to it as well

Just the dessert and treats

Lovely evening light

A final show from the dancers…

…including this hearty but miss directed sea shanty with cowboys.

Sadly it’s nearly over. Now a sea day heading back to Dunedin after a great adventure
