We opted to stay one more night in Dunedin to celebrate Julie’s birthday and NYE.
As a treat we booked in to the Ebb Hotel, nothing flash from the outside but lovely inside with the rooms set around an internal courtyard.
We had a few hours to kill before our room was ready so cruised the shops…
…and visited the Art Gallery
In the afternoon another museum, the Settlers Museum this time - quite a display of photos of the first settlers….
…passing the iconic Dunedin railway station
Pre- dinner drinks in the Octagon, the site for the NYE entertainment
Early evening kids entertainment with a singer who had toured with the wiggles
Dinner at Bacchus restaurant overlooking the festivities, decided to try Sam Neil’s Pinot noir
Heading home at 11 pm - couldn’t make it to midnight!
