Today was the start of our 8 days on safari in Tanzania. It wa an early start for our flights to the game area. First flight was to Arusha near Kilimanjaro then another flight to Lake Manyara. Both flights were with Auric Air

And another just to prove we were there

Then we were off in our safari vehicle with George as our driver/guide
First stop a 3 hr drive around the Lake Manyara National Park
We saw quite a lot of animals for a forested area. Unfortunately all photos are just with an iPhone so the quality isn’t too great.
A land hornbill
A bush buck
Heaps of baboons
A water buck
Picnic lunch
A lot of elephants
One giraffe
Another elephant
A black face vervet monkey
Blue monkeys
Impala
After leaving the pak it was a one hour drive to our lodge up near the Ngorogoro crater. The were a number of roadside art vendors
Amazing welcome at Kitela Lodge, including very tasty baobab juice
Quite a cottage we had as well
And a great pool
Followed by happy hour with local gin and an extensive buffet dinner
