13 Jun - exploring Saaremaa

We spent today exploring Saaremaa island.

We drove westwards along the north coast with fleeting views of the sea from the road.  This was one of our stops at a camping area

Then the old Alba windmills

Morning coffee at a roadside cafe

Next was the Panga cliffs. Pretty unremarkable but then Estonia is very flat!

Some creative woodwork on the way in

Lunch spot with an op shop

Lots of old style barns and houses along the way . This time some cattle which were pretty rare

In one of the villages

Next Kuressaare and the beautifully restored moated citadel

A colourful barn swallow on the moat bridge

A hooded crow in the grounds

Finally the pittoresque Kaali meteorite crater not quite the Wolfe Creek crater but impressive in its own right
