..and soon after entering Pembrokeshire.
Our aim was to walk selected sections of the 186 mile (288 km) Pembrokeshire Coastal Path which runs from Amroth to St Dogmaels.
We had booked a B&B in Tenby, but stopped just short in Saundersfoot to do a warm up 6km walk from there to Tenby. It was a sunny 17 degrees, and the beach was popular.
All signs in Wales are dual language, and we were glad they weren't in Welsh only.
We had lovely views over Saundersfoot harbour as we left the town...
...on well marked trails. The acorn will now be our go to sign, rather than the scallop shell of the Spanish camino.
We walked through fringe woodland..
..past stoney beaches...
...old mine shafts..
..striking headlands....
...and field margins.
It wasn't too long before we got views of our destination, Tenby.
The views got even better the closer we got.
Being a busy seaside holiday town, all necessary supplies were available.
The town has a long history with significant portions of the old castle wall remaining, as well as the tower from an 11th century Norman fort...
and a still in tact 19th century fort on St Catherine's island just off the main beach.
It's seafood, seafood, seafood around town so we settled in for some at the very local Hope and Anchor pub..

Looks divine. All the elements for a perfect holiday. Happy walking.
