Late in the day we went for a visit to a nearby Hamer tribe village
We drew an instant crowd

We were invited into one of the village huts
...where they made us coffee, drunk from gourd bowls
It suddenly started to rain, very heavily, and we made a hasty retreat. Even the goats took shelter
Alas we weren't fast enough. We were cut off from the lodge by a flooded creek and has to do a hairy 15 km bypass on a very wet ill defined track through the bush in the dark. Full marks to the vehicles and drivers
