C - day 16 To Cambridge Bay via Jenny Lind Island

 Today we steamed west towards Cambridge Bay

We went along Simpson Strait on the southern side of Prince of Wales Island, passing near to the wrecks of the Terror and Erebus from the Franklin expedition. Both are underwater and in prohibited areas so nothing to see

We stopped and commenced our landing at Jenny Lind Island but the landing was called off when bird flu was discovered on the island.

We had another session on plankton captured in the science boat net. Below is a dinoflagellate and a diatom (the longer caterpillar looking one)…

Early evening we met bow to bow with our sister ship the Road Amundsen going the other direction. Lots of hot mead and flag waving to celebrate
