A day at sea today crossing from Greenlandic to Northern Canadian waters
Along the way we crossed the Arctic Circle at 66 deg 34 min
Which called for an Arctic Circle crossing ceremony in which the Norse and Inuit sea gods made an appearance
Then an arctic ice “plunge” by the ship’s captain
Followed by a dose of cod liver oil , then very quickly thereafter a cleansing shot of aquavit
Otherwise, outside was windy, foggy and cold so the day was spent indoors with a series of lectures on the Arctic and arctic explorers. Also a knot tying lesson and as always plenty of eating and drinking.
