...to the Picasso Mania exhibition in the Galleries Nationales du Grand Palais.
The exhibit followed his life and works, plus his impact on the art world in general and those who followed him.
The first room was full of images of him created by others.
There ere lots of his works...
..plus an Andy Warhol series dedicated to him.
He also inspired video artists, sculptors, and tapestries!
W continued down the Champs where the Christmas markets were still in full swing. We were easily tempted by a Grand Marnier crepe...
..and luckily didn't bypass this side market...
....because look what we found...
...yes it was called a box of cheese and was basically a dish of warm mashed potato topped with grilled cheese of your choice. We went for the 3 Fromages (Camembert, blue, and goats). Totally decadent, but ow it tasted great.
Next it was a ride on the Paris eye..
Great views, once round at a nice pace, then once round with stops. Plenty of tim for photos.
Next a compulsory walk in the Tuileries gardens.
Then, retail therapy. Firstly in Galleries Lafayette..
..where it was time for coffee - plus pastries of course.
Then Printemps...
..with its wonderful Christmas window displays
We had mixed luck, so strolled around the area near the Paris Opera til we found what we wanted. Needless to say the Opera always requires a photo.
First course turned out to be sushi yellowtail, with a pomegranate purée and rocket. The second, below, was smoked herring, dill, samphire, finger lime, and miso mayonnaise with potato...
..third course, lentils in some strange spices, with slow cooked egg, regional sausisse, and in-house potato crisps
..fourth course chicken on butternut purée with mushrooms in Korean spices and a chilli concentrate...
...fifth course was cantal cheese with an apple and tarragon purée, and the dessert, tangerine sorbet with green tea meringue and chestnut cake.
