Second game drive - early morning

We were up at 5 am for our first morning drive after coffee and biscuits at the homestead.

We headed down to the river looking for a leopard that others saw the night before. We had no luck but saw a hamerkop foraging for nest material.

Plus some great sightings of yellowbill hornbills.

Moving along the river there were squirrels...

...a crested barbit...

..a brown snake eagle...

..a saddle billed stork...

.... then a sole male giraffe.

We then headed away from the river finding dung beetles hard at work....

...some kudu...

...and more giraffes

Several of us decided to walk the last leg home, of course it was guns, radio, and single file.

It was mostly shrubs and trees etc but we found an empty dung beetle ball.

We arrived safely...

...and went straight to breakfast

During the morning, between massages and swims, we saw, wandering through the grounds of the camp, a family of warthogs.
