Last afternoon at Kirkmans

It was forecast to be 37 degrees today so it was down to the pool when we got back..

..but we did photograph some of the sights from the camp area such as this red veined dropwing...

...a go-away bird..

...house citrus swallowtail butterflies....

...and a male vervet monkey advertising his wares.

Because of the heat, lunch was in the dining room, the first time we had eaten indoors,

We then headed out for our last game drive, going down the old railway line used to take the gold down to the coast.

We didn't see a great deal of new things, just this eagle owl..

...some white crested helmutshrike..

..some little bee-eaters....

....and this well sculpted termite mound...

We stopped early for our final drinks by the river, champagne of course...

...and were joined by a herd of buffalo.

It was then back for our last dinner at Kirkmans. The main was springbok shank. That added another animal to our previous offerings of impala, kudu and warthog - almost eating our way through the African wildlife!
