To Kirkmans camp

Another early start for our transfer to Kirkmans camp in Sabi Sand game reserve. We had an early breakfast on the terrace of the hotel...

...then transferred to the airport for our private charter flight. Interestingly, they had a fully catered pre-departure lounge. The flight was about an hour to the NE to Skukuza airport.

We were in a 19 seater Beechcraft aeroplane...

...with good views of the Sabi and Sand rivers as we flew in.

The remote airport had state of the art firefighting equipment..,

...and quite a flash arrivals area.

We then did a 15 min drive in open top 4WD vehicles...

..to Kirkmans camp.

This was based on the original homestead, which went through stages of cattle ranch, hunting lodge, and now game viewing resort.

There was heaps of game hunting memorabilia and old artifacts in the homestead..

..and welcome drinks were beers and G&Ts

We had separate cabins..

...with excellent views...

...and a great pool....

..accompanied by food, food, food, and booze, booze, booze.
