Back in Paris

On to Paris to visit Pippa, Adam and Freddie. Their apartment is near the Seine, in the 12th arrondissement..

...on Ave Ledru- Rollin

It didn't take us long to head out across the river..

..to the Jardin de Plantes..

..to check out the blossoms, and there were plenty..

..and a field of poppies.

Quickly back, we headed out with Pippa to pick up Freddie from day care..

..and headed to the Arsenal to check out the daffodils..

..and have a picnic - off sorts.

The next day was our 43rd wedding anniversary so we headed out to Faubourg 52, a restaurant recommended by Pippa. It is in the 9th arrondissement, in the north of the city

..and was slightly hipster in nature, with excellent food.

Asparagus was in season, this dish white asparagus with a caramelised honey balsamic sauce, French ham and a ginger confit...

..and this was a creative fish dish, with pink and white grapefruit, avocado, asparagus and a wild garlic emulsion.

Dessert was creamed Madagascar honey, sunflower praline, tea ice cream and bergamot.

Back to the apartment for some papa time.

Dinner was family affair, starting with Julie's re-creation of her lunch entree
