Namutoni to Waterberg

Today we turned south, on the penultimate leg of our trip, heading for the Walterberg Plateau Park, via Tsumeb, Otavi and Otjiwarongo.

We had lunch in Otjiwarongo, a big town, and a big pig-out

We could see the Walterberg Plateau from some distance away

These baboons were alongside the road driving in..

...which again had seen a lot of rain.

The NP building was pretty flash..

...and there were well posted walks to do.

Another great grassy campsite, then...

...off to the pool of course.

We are here for 2 nights and it rained heavily early the next morning delaying our activities, but eventually we set out on one of the trails..

..and to the German War Cemetery, from the Herero uprising in 1904.

There were a few animals about, warthogs..

..and Damara dik-diks

Next it was up onto the plateau itself. Big views over the camp and plains..

..and nice rock walls.

An impressive beetle...

..a ground scraper thrush..

...and plenty of flowers

Tomorrow it's back to Windhoek and hopefully off to Paris, via Frankfurt, Air France willing!
