To Namibia

We were up early again for our last game drive at Chobe. Everyone's focus was on finding lions. Unfortunately the closest we got was alarm calling baboons in a tree and an impala with a fresh slice along its back leg.

Anyway, we saw the sunrise again, still with a fairly full moon

We did see a family of mongoose, our first in Botswana

..and some sparring impala..

..plus a basking crocodile..

..and we had a split second view of a honey badger, but all in all it wasn't our best game drive.

Still we ended with a pretty good count:

- 102 different birds
- 21 different mammals
 - 3 different reptiles

Midday we started our road transfer to Victoris Falls airport. All good except for the long wait at Zimbabwe immigration. The pilot announced that we would have views of Victoria Falls as we flew out. Well technically he was correct but was this worth announcing?

It was a 1 hr 20 min flight to Windhoek, the capital of Namibia

Namibia, like Capetown has been very dry, well visible as we flew in.

We are having a short overnight stay here, at Vondelhof Guesthouse, picking up our 4WD early tomorrow.

  1. I hope someone is watering your garden. It's dry here too. Today in Canberra, being 9 April, it will be 30 degrees. We are having an Indian Summer/Autumn. Pity about the lack of lions but other animals didn't let you down...
