Life goes on

We had to wait til 4 pm to go to the hospital today so decided to go out to lunch at a cafe just up the road from the apartment.

It was packed. Very typical French food. Started with a supposed classic, oeufs mayonnaise, you guessed it, eggs with mayonnaise..

..then the signature dish of the restaurant, and supposedly one of the best places for it in Paris, coq au vin..

..then the cheese..wow...

..with tarte au pommes and a chocolat gateau to finish..

..well not quite the finish, we were given a chou pastry treat with our coffee, and then a free generous shot of Armagnac.

We staggered under the food load to the hospital. We took Freddie to a common room

Where he demonstrated his vocal abilities

Before a quick feed, then on with some warm clothes...

..and off with dad to get his passport photo

Back in the room it was time for another nap

Before hunger struck again

Then some poses

The grandparents then headed off to the centre of the city, the evening light quite lovely on the Hotel de Ville

Next stop Sainte Chapelle for a Bach/Vivaldi/Mozart concert

Then a nice stroll across the river under the city lights
