..and again

Wally now 3 days overdue and not wanting to come out, so it was off to a large flea market in the 15th Arrondissement

We lunched near Place d'Italie, with this modernist building..

..at Comme au Vietnam, rated 414 out of over 13,000 Paris restaurants - not bad for a non-French place

Back home along Boulevarde de L'Hôpital...

..with a neat row of homeless people's tents outside..

...and the largest congregation of police cars ever.

Later in the pm we walked to the area around Place St Michel, crowded with tourists...

...plus the odd busker - maybe rats got to his guitar?

We then walked back home along the Seine, over the re-fenced Pont des Artes (so the locks couldn't be placed on the fence endangering the structure)...

...passing a number of swans...

..and some artistically decorated scaffolding.

Autumn is mushroom time, and we had long been intrigued by the yellow girolles, or Chantelle mushrooms. We got some to prepare with pasta.

Unfortunately, the flavour wasn't what we had hoped for. So it was off to bed for another nights wait. By morning there had been some fits and starts - maybe Wally doesn't like mushrooms - and the level of preparedness was raised...

..but not enough for action stations yet.
