Fortuna Bay - Sth Georgia

Next stop was Fortuna Bay, mid way along the north coast.

We landed at the western corner of the bay and walked along the beach and then inland to the penguin colony

We had excellent coastal views along the way...

...including glaciers

We landed in the middle of the baby seal playground..

..and yes it was still cold, about 6 degrees without the wind chill.

The walk was pleasant enough..

...and we saw the endangered endemic South Georgia pipit

Again a big colony of King penguins, about 20,000 pairs

There was also a lone chinstrap penguin in moult
