Salisbury Plain -Sth Georgia

Our first landing was at Saisbury Plain, in Albatross Bay on the North of the island.

We were treated to a lovely sunrise as we arrived..

...plus welcoming King penguins.

Th re are an estimated 50,000 pairs of King penguins in the colony

Yes, it was cold

Though the locals were oblivious

The beach was full of pengiuns, elephant seals, and antarctic fur seals

We walked along the beach to the main colony

There were a number of advanced woolly chicks

Plus others were moulting, something penguins do each year

The baby seals were ever engaging
