On to Le Lyrial

We boarded Le Lyrial in the late afternoon for our cruise to Capetown. We surrendered our passports and received "new ones" - all we would be needing for the next 3 weeks.

Our "Pestige" cabin on Deck 4...

..the pool, unlikely to be used, at least in the short term.

The bridge

The Captain's Gala Evening provided Veuve Cliguot and canapés and an introduction to the senior staff on board..

...plus of course a formal dinner.

Foie gras..

...veal..

...chocolate dessert..

Breakfast is a less formal affair. A buffet, with everything you could imagine..

...plus pastries of course...

..one has to pace oneself of course, so it was only a "small" second breakfast course.

An open bar means pre-dinner cocktails, the only concern being are there enough nights to work through the entire cocktail list!

All this as we head for our first port of call in The Falklands.
