Gough Island

The weather turned bad overnight as expected, but we still headed the 220 odd miles SE to Gough Island for the purpose of doing a circumnavigation by ship.

The weather was pretty awful

But we did have some good sightings of Trstan wandering albatrosses, which only breed on Gough Island.

A mature bird, the distinguishing feature being the expanse of white on the upper body and wings.

A young bird
