Climb of The Cobbler

The Cobbler, or King Arthur’s Seat, is one of the more popular walks at Loch Lomond. It has a well formed track and offers spectacular views from the top. It is graded as moderate difficulty, 4 to 6 hours return with a 920 m ascent

We headed off through a pine forest in light rain

Crossed a few small creeks

And our objective came into view

It was a steep climb up..

..but the views made it worthwhile

Loch Lomond and Ben Lomond visible in the distance

Excellent views also down Loch Long

And sweeping views to the east

Ben Lomond views on the way down

A lovely creek at the tree line

Plus some flowers including the heather like ling

A delicately flowering grass

Bilberry flowers

This rather striking bush

Budding conifers

Another unknown small colourful plant

Lots of mosses

Another colourful bush

Lots of these

And finally back above the loch, this time at high tide
