Glen Loin Loop

A cold clear day with non rain was forecast so we set out walking from the house on the 17.5 km Glen Loin Loop.

The route went from Succoth north up the Glen under the Arrochar Alps to the bottom of Sloy Dam and back over the Inverugles River to Arrochar, a total of 17.5 kilometres.

It started on a fire trail with snow visible on the higher peaks..

...including Ben Lomond

There was lots of primrose by the road

And nice views as we traversed through the pine forests

It was lambing season

And there were lots of butterflies including Orange Tips...

..and Green Veined Whites

It was still sunny at the half way point..

..where we stopped for lunch

It was back down the Glen through pine forest

Past budding Young pine

Through heavily blossoming gorse

 More cute flowers

And finally arriving back at the head of Loch Long

Dinner was at the nearby Village Inn, with curious black and white mussels, and a Scottish standard, haggis, tatties and heaps (turnips)
