Portree and the north west

We had booked lunch at the Michelin starred Three Chimneys restaurant so did a short walk around the Portree peninsula in the morning.

We started with excellent views of Portree harbour

Then walked through some hazel woods (artistically interpreted)

Where we met a friendly blackbird

Boats passed

And we approached an open area called “The Bile”

There were plenty of flowers..wild garlic

Lady slipper orchids

Hawthorn

And we finished through birch woods

We then drove to the north west of the island to the Three Chimneys restaurant

We had the Tasting menu, it started with three types of homemade bread and two butters, with some Scottish beer for the boys

First course was Gorse and Apple Cured Scallops with Roe Parfat - Crusted Herbs - Rapeseed Oil

Next Dunvegan Crab with ginger - Smoked Almond - Yogurt

Thirdly, Scorched Dunvegan Langoustine with Roast Sweetbread - Braided Fennel - Smoked Mussel Ketchup

Then Peat Smoked Haddock Ravioli

Then we shared the next course options of North Sea Cod and Roasted Confit of Pork

To finish Scottish Honey with Pistachio sponge - Lemon and Bergamont - White Chocolate and surprises under the pastry case. An amazing dish

After all that, we needed a walk so we headed to Neots Point for the Lighthouse Walk

On the drive back home we spotted the little harbour of  Glendale - very good for arty photography (or attempts at it)
