More Liverpool

We also had a busy second day in Liverpool, starting with a walking tour and passing on the way some well publicised street art on Jamaica Street. By way of background, a Liver Bird is a mythical bird that is the symbol of Liverpool - the caption reads FOR ALL LIVERPOOL’S LIVER BIRDS)

The walk started at the historic centre..

..passing football memorabilia stalls..

...juxtaposed restored and unrestored buildings..

...the Town Hall..

...and unfortunate statue of Queen Victoria, locally known as Dicky Vicky, an inappropriate appendage showing from the side view

...in to the Cavern Club/Beatles quarter

...even a plaque and a brick walll with a who’s who of musicians who had performed at the Cavern

We finished down near the Mersey, near the Liver Building

Then wandered along the river.....

...a propeller from the Lusitania on show here

To the Beatles Story

For dinner we went to the “industrial” street food Baltic Market
