Sliema and St Juliens

We decided on a beach day today, but first we had to try pastizzi for breakfast. Bob headed up the backstreets to a well rated pastizzi bakery, past typical Maltese dwellings

The weather outlook was great

So we headed east along the shoreline, passing this spot..

..but deciding on this one

With natural beach chairs

And a lifeguard

After lunch we decided to walk westwards along the water to St Juliens and St George’s beach. There were nice views along the way

But St George’s beach was a total disaster - crowds!

We walked back to the rock platforms

Next was drinks on our balcony - local beer

We went for pizza for dinner at Piccolo Padre. It didn’t disappoint. This a rolled pizza, stuffed with onion, blue cheese and mushroom and topped with sesame seeds and honey, plus a barrata salad
