We headed west to Trapani, with a few stops in between.
First stop was Monreale, to visit the Cathedral with its magnificent frescos, built to outdo the Cefalu cathedral
We did a drive by of the temple at Segesta
Stopped for lunch at Scopello
Arancini and cannoli now a standard
Drove through some lovely rural areas
Shades of Tuscany
Explored Erice
Including a stop at Mama Grammatico Pasticceria. Mama, now in her 80s is world famous, and the subject of the book Bitter Almonds
Then drove to our seafront apartment in Trapani
We wandered around the old town
Before having our best meal yet in Sicily at Bettolaccia
