Only a short distance to today so we filled our time by visiting Cisternino and spending time at the beach at Torre Santa Sabina
Firstly, to the old town of Cisternino, passing through some lovely rural scenery on the way. This trullo almost fortress- like
Typical narrow winding stone-walled roads
Cisternino old town
The old town gate
The town square
Street scenes
The view from the park at the edge of town
These guys were playing some game throwing cent coins onto the pavers and picking them up with sticks with magnets on the end
It was then down to the beach, checking out some spots on the way. This a private cove got the thumbs down
Things looked better here - Mezzaluna beach at Torre Santa Sabina
We even found a wood fired pizza place around the point
So moved to there Spiaggia L’Isoletta
Lots of fossilised shells in the rocks
We then headed inland to our accommodation for the next two days near Ostuni. More lovely scenery an ancient olive trees
This is our Trulli experience, at Trulli Boccadoro
Even a cute kitchenette
An in-room wine selection
A huge pool
And please help yourself to anything in the orchard or veggie garden
For dinner we went into nearby Ceglie Messapica, a complete surprise, with a great old town
This lady making orichette, the Puglia tradition pasta
An incredible €20 a head degustation “feast”
With a generous serve of limoncello to finish
